Good morning folks, you’re listening to the daily news brief on CFRC 101.9FM. It is Tuesday, January 12th, 2021, it is 8 am. Hope you have your morning coffee on hand because I know I do. Today we have a high of  and a low of negative 5.

 

KFL A is reporting 4  new covid-19 cases today, our resolved number of cases is 5 , leaving our told number of active cases to be 51. Currently we have 1 person in the ICU and unfortunately 1 death, are condolences go out to the family . Kingston is in stage Grey which means lockdown with Maximum measures, as trends continue to worsen after measures from Control level are implemented. Please continue to stay home, wear your mask, and keep social distancing from one another. 

 

On another note, Loving Hands Kingston is organizing and accepting donations, Following the large fire at a housing complex in Verona where more than 30 people lost their homes on January 7th, donations are being accepted via LovinghandsKingston.ca and food, clothing and toiletry items can be dropped off at Loving Hands primary location: 113 Greenless Drive, Kingston ON. Loving Hands Kingston is  a local organization that works in collaboration with nonprofit agencies and local Kingston shelters. Loving hands Kingston assists the homeless population by serving meals and providing basic household essentials such as clothing, housewares and more to assist with getting reestablished. There is a  bridge between people leaving shelters and gaining their own residence which sometimes is difficult and loving hands Kingston is doing  their best to make the transition as comfortable and smooth as possible.
