This piece includes narration, projection and sound design, and a wide variety of musical styles, and is sure to be a celebration and contemplation of diversity, love and loss. Audience members are warned of strong language and intense themes included in the piece<em>.</p>

<p>First up, Dr. Laura Murray from the Belle Park Project gives us an inside look at the upcoming event from this collective, entitled Unearthed, running August 26th-30th.</p>
<p>In live music news, we hear from Jerry Leger of Jerry Leger &amp; the Situation, after a new single release and ahead of their Saturday main stage performance at the Limestone City Blues Festival. Next up, we hear from vocalist Tom Emmans from London, ON, metal outfit Atria, who played the Broom Factory this past Wednesday in support of Upon a Burning Body &#8211; this group is also fresh off the release of their new EP, Ground Zero.</p>

<p>Local band The Gertrudes releases their fifth full length album, Just to Please You, on August 18th. Greg Tilson of the band stopped by to chat with us about the group’s history, creative process, and this brand new record. Stay tuned, because you&#8217;ll hear a featured track from the album right after the interview!</p>
<p>Later on in the hour, we’re visited by Riley Morrison and Rupert Davies of the No. 9 organization ahead of their second annual Cloud 9 Electronic Music and Eco-Art Festival, which will be hitting Rideau Lakes from September 8-10th. Plus, Artistic Director Aara McCauley of the Kingston WritersFest joins us for a first look at the 2023 festival that will be running from September 27th-October 1st.</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>Live theatre is in full swing in Kingston, and we&#8217;ve got two interviews this week bringing you the latest from the stage. Lauren sits down with Artistic Director of Theatre Kingston Rosemary Doyle ahead of this year&#8217;s Theatre Kingston Fringe Festival running August 3-13th. Later, we chat with Jeremy Smith, Artistic Director of Driftwood Theatre, before the company&#8217;s final Bard&#8217;s Bus Tour kicks off in Kingston on August 5th and 6th after thirty summers of touring.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s not all this week, because live music continues into the summer, and local alt-folk band Tiny Horse stops by the CFRC studio to talk about their past and upcoming gigs with the Trews, at Howe Island, and this weekend at the Hillside Festival. We&#8217;ll have all that, plus your headlines and live music calendar!</p>

<p>In campus and community arts, Lauren sits down with curator and director Emelie Chhangur of the Agnes Etherington Art Centre is bringing us the latest on their reopening and upcoming weekend events. Dr. Kip Pegley, professor at the DAN School of Drama and Music  joins us later for an insightful interview on the developing role of artificial intelligence in the music industry. </p>
<p>As always, we’ve got you live music scoop too, featuring your calendar of can’t miss performances for the week. Multi-instrumentalist Nick Lennox of local band the Wilderness returned to the studio with us to chat about the group’s upcoming performances opening for the Trews at McKinnon Brothers Grandstand this weekend, and co-headlining the upcoming Howe Island Rockin the Rock show. Last but certainly not least, acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter David James Allen joins us for an interview and performance, off his latest album and in advance of his upcoming gig at Musiikki Cafe.</p>
