Coming up on this special Community Takeover of our airwaves, we welcome Trinette Atkinson, Audience Development Manager of the Spire to talk about their upcoming fundraiser for Almost Home, as well as teasing other upcoming events. The Spire, located at 82 Sydenham Street is a historic Kingston landmark with over 170 years of history. It has become a vibrant community hub for the arts and non-profit groups, housing more than 20 community and cultural groups, and serves as one of Kingston’s best large performance venues. Almost Home’s mission is to provide a place of comfort and respite for families whose children are receiving medical treatment in Kingston area hospitals. While doctors, nurses, therapists and other staff provide intensive medical care for children in hospital, the parents and siblings who stay at Almost Home are able to provide equally essential emotional support and love.
