Here’s your CFRC Daily News Brief for Wednesday, December 16 2020!
A COVID-19 update; we had 15 new cases yesterday bringing our active case count to 99 cases In the Kingston Frontenac and Lennox and Addington Health Region.
Yesterday, in Ottawa, the first COVID-19 vaccine was distributed to some long-term care workers. They are expecting by Friday a total of 1500 workers at 10 care homes across Ottawa will be vaccinated. Other provinces are starting vaccine roll outs as well. It’s nice that vaccines are finally starting to get distributed. That being said, Kingston public health is saying multiple COVID-19 cases are linked to house parities in Kingston. If you attended a house party, make sure to get tested and stay within your households. Keep our community safe.
Our local United Way has community donation drive underway. They are looking for:
Non perishable food, clothing, new hats, mittens, socks, new and gently used winter boots and hygiene products. These will be distributed to members in our community who need a helping hand. If you have any of these items around or want to contribute, you can drop them off from today through to the 18 between 11am to 2 pm.
If you still have some holiday shopping to do, remember that local businesses need your support this year. You can purchase downtown dollars which is like a gift card to lots of different downtown shops. If you purchase before December 24th there are some discounts available.
