CFRC 101.9 FM is pleased to present a live performance and interview with Airwave YGK
Musician-in-Residence, Deandra Henry who joined us in our studios in June 2025.
Deeply rooted in the vibrant musical culture of Jamaica, Deandra, who began playing guitar at
age seven also draws inspiration from a wide variety of genres in her songwriting and
composition. Her artistic practice is a fusion of genres and emotions that incorporate elements
from various musical influences, creating a dynamic sound that reflects her experiences and
emotions.
Deandra and special guests Taryn McKenna (violin), and Atiari (keys)  joined us in our studios to develop songs for Deandra’s upcoming EP called All For
Nothing. For the live to air performance that aired June 25 th 2025, listeners enjoyed a very raw
and intimate acoustic performance of five songs from a project that explores themes of
heartbreak, loneliness, and self-discovery. Vulnerable, and soul-stirring, this is a live set that will
leave you rivetted!
Airwave YGK Musician Residencies at CFRC are made possible through the generous support
of the City of Kingston and Kingston Arts Council.
