Coming up on this special Community Takeover of our airwaves, we’re talking to Rosemary Doyle, Artistic Director of Theatre Kingston. Theatre Kingston produces new and existing work, the TK Fringe Festival, and a series of educational engagement activities for adults and children. They collaborate with local theatre practitioners to build a strong cultural voice in the region, finding and supporting professional opportunities for local artists, including Indigenous artists, artists of colour, new generation artists (18-30 years old), Deaf artists and artists with disabilities. As a region outside of Toronto, Theatre Kingston’s primary goal is to give local audiences examples of the art form at a calibre seen on the stages of the major Canadian urban centres. TK Fringe takes place from August 6-16 at the Tett Centre.
