The Release Radar Rundown, hosted by Dinah Jansen in partnership with the Kingston Music Office typically airs new releases emerging from Kingston artists each week on Thursdays at 11:30 AM. On March 26th, we extended the episode from 30 minutes for a full two hours to pay tribute to local music icon, Winston Vinh who passed away on March 21st 2026.
Jansen reached out to numerous musicians, festival organizers and sound engineers in Kingston who worked with Winston in order to source recordings to share for airplay and this podcast. The response was tremendous.
Throughout this episode, you’ll hear studio recordings and live cuts including previously unheard and unreleased material.

Thanks to the many folks who sent along music directly and pointed us to deep cuts available online. Links, where available are above. Special thanks to George Broughton, Geoff Chown, Aaron Holmburg, Josh Lyon, Mike Wissell, Shaun Weima, Andy Love, Rob Bailey, Spencer Evans, Oscar Evans, Dan Chalmers, Rich Tyo, and The Big Phat Horn Band for their help on short notice in ensuring we had a wide variety of musical projects in which Winston Vinh participated.
Winston Vinh’s Celebration of Life takes place at 5 PM at The Toucan on March 26th 2026. Per request of his family, folks can make a donation to an organisation close to Winston’s heart in his name at Joe’s Music Mill. You can also support the Mill and local artists by attending this year’s Homegrown Live on May 2nd.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope this tribute brings you joy and fond memories of our very dear friend.
