In this program we provide Local Journalism Initiative reportage for Kingston and the region.  First,  we feature a report from Owen Fullerton, Local Journalism Reporter for YGK News on Girls in Kingston and surrounding town having an opportunity to explore trades October 26th 2023 at St. Lawrence College.  Next, we have a report from Keith Dempsey, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter for the Brockville Recorder and Times on an upcoming  Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands council  public meeting on November 6th at 6 PM for the purpose of a discussing a private road renaming to replace an offensive street name off Back Street in Seeley’s Bay called Squaw Point Lane. Keith Dempsey also reported that an affordable housing project is slowly taking shape in Gananoque under the auspices of Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands.

CFRC’s own Chris Lawrie ffollows with a report on critical food sharing project in Kingston, followed by reportage from Michelle Dorey Forestell, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter for Kingstonist.com on the recent loss of a Napanee arena due to a recent suspicious fire and an inquest into an inmate death at Quinte Detention Centre. Ted Evans, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter for CJAI Amherst Island radio follows with a report on Loyalist Township’s participation in a community security footage program, and we end with Jeff Gard, Local Journalism Reporter for CFWN FM in Cobourg with a report on the Canadian Fire Fighters’ museum finding a new long-term home in Coburg alongside a report on the state of bike thefts in the town.
