In this first episode of CFRC’s Airwave YGK Artist in Residence 2024 artist talkback series, we are pleased to present a conversation with Kakaow, aka Ricky Brant, one of many local electronic artists joining us as part of the CFRC Airwave YGK Artist in Residence Program supported by the Kingston Arts Council Kakaow is an Indigenous creator and multi instrumentalist specializing in digital composition, arrangement, production and performance. In our conversation with Ricky, we learn much about his pathway as an artist, the local electronic music scene in Kingston, his upcoming Airwave YGK residency at CFRC and we also get to listen to some of the wonderful music he has produced as well.
